I just got back home late Monday night after two-and-a-half weeks of vacation in France (with a side trip to Italy). Luckily the jet lag had me up at 3:00 this morning, plenty early to get my GBBD post up! I think I had fewer floral casualties than I did after my last trip in June, but I think my miniature roses are beyond resurrection. :( What's that? Time to go flower shopping, you say? OK, OK, if I must...
'til then, here's what's blooming in my yard.
My canna, bright and fiery this morning.
My bouganvillea, which, despite always looking a little parched, somehow manages to put on a pretty regular show.
Red ginger, a constant performer.
Shrimp plant
I bought it for its foliage, but my polka dot plant does put out some cute little flowers.
Spider lily, Crinum asiaticum
Unidentified orchid
To see what else is blooming today, visit Carol at May Dreams Gardens, where she hosts the monthly Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day. Thanks, Carol!

Other people go to Hawaii for a fantastic holiday. (Haven't made it there yet).
And what do you do? You leave paradise and go elsewhere.
I suppose even paradise palls from time to time?
Nice exotic flowers for your welcome home.

i'm enjoying touring your garden with you today, i'm really enjoying my first visit. the tropical show is beautiful :)
The spider lily is luscious. As are all the other blooms. I yearn to live in a climate that can grow these beauties.
Wow, your Hawaiian plants just take my breath away. After a visit with Noel, I thought it couldn't get more spectacular, but here we are. Huge, colorful blossoms.
Happy bloom day!
Joco-It's not so much that paradise pales, but every once in a while it's nice to experience something different, beauty in its various expressions, as it were. Always nice to be back though.
Noel-thank you, I hope you'll come back to visit!
Gardenwalgardentalk- Thank you. I think no matter where we live we always envy somebody else's native thrivers.
Town Mouse- Thank you. Hawaii does do a good job of producing vibrant blooms.
